Chelsea Dyjak - Crit 3 Recipe | Extended Seeing

Honestly since the start of this class I have struggled at using apps. To me photograph is all about the natural image and not really manipulating it. I am starting to understand that for this class it is required to do so and I am also starting to love that I can explore new ways to create such amazing images. That being said, I started this assignment purely using the panorama camera function on my iPhone 5. I experimented with more vertical panoramas then classical. This shot of the tree was my personal favorite from my set of photos. I only edited the size of the image and the coloring slightly using the BeFunky app, which I highly recommend. It allows you to change the color in so many different ways such as temperature, saturation, and hue along with many others. The thing that made this picture so visually appealing to me is that I actually ended up doing a half backbend so that I could get the top of the tree that was behind me in the frame as well. Sometimes it all about what you do to shoot the photo rather than what you use to edit it, but thats just my opinion.

For this next image that was voted my POW, I first edited it with BeFunky but then I used another app called RollWorld allows you to make the image into a tiny planet. I tested this app after reading Brooke's post about apps that she liked and was suggesting for this assignment. After testing this filter on many photos I soon realized that it only works with images that are of scenery or have a focal point that is in the distance. Close up images just end up looking like a spiral that just look a mess. So i guess everyone is wondering what this photo originally looked like, well its actually a picture of the Philadelphia sky line looking down on it from the Philadelphia Zoo Ballon. If you haven't noticed from my other sets of photos I love the zoo and have a pass so I go when I get the chance. The rope that is visible is from the netting surrounding us.

For a fast recap-

BeFunky Photo Editor version 5.0 requires iOS 6.1 or later. Optimized for iPhone5 (FREE)

RollWorld version 1.2.1 requires iOS7 or later. Optimized for iPhone 5 (FREE)

Although I would love to keep this a mystery, this is about learning so here is the original image before I put into RollWorld --->
